Pinealon is a synthetic tripeptide with amino acid sequence Glu-Asp-Arg (EDR), a classic pineal gland-derived short peptide bioregulator developed by the Khavinson research team from the Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology in St. Petersburg. It appears as white lyophilized powder with HPLC purity ≥99%. Thanks to its tiny molecular structure, it can cross cell and nuclear membranes to directly bind chromatin and modulate neuronal gene expression at transcriptional level, which differentiates it from conventional receptor-dependent nootropic peptides.

Main laboratory research applications:
